['mɑːks 'brʌȓəz], Gruppe amerikanischer (Film-)Komiker. Mit dem festen Kern der Gruppe, Groucho (eigentlich Julius Henry Marx, * 1890, ✝ 1977), Chico (eigentlich Leonard Marx, * 1886, ✝ 1961) und Harpo (eigentlich Adolph Arthur Marx, * 1888, ✝ 1964), traten zeitweilig die beiden Brüder Zeppo (eigentlich Herbert Marx, * 1901, ✝ 1979) und Gummo (eigentlich Milton Marx, * 1893, ✝ 1977) auf. Die Marx Brothers hatten große Bühnenerfolge, ab 1924 am Broadway. Ihre Filme zeichnen sich durch surreale, groteske Slapstick-Komik aus. 1949 löste sich die Gruppe auf.
